My, what a nice stretch of weather we have had! Last week I even took a moment after a hot, sweaty day in the field to go jump in Lake Whatcom. In my opinion one of the best ingredients of summer is a swim in the lake…so very refreshing!
It has been a few weeks without an update to the Farm Log….things have been busy around these parts with my parents visiting for ten days, many crops ripening, and the often present, and mostly welcome, demands of young Master Brighton to keep me on my toes.
I must note that July 16th we had a great musical event here at the Farm. The Boundary Bay Brass took the stage despite it being an unseasonable cool, wet summer day and around 40 people showed up to enjoy the show, share some food and commiserate about the weather;) The last three weeks have also seen Stone Town Theater Co. out here at the farm rehearsing William Shakespeare’s, “The Tempest”. I have a bit part in the production and it is a great pleasure to be working with old and new friends on another aspect of Arts here on the Farm. As I don’t get out much these days it is great to hear the Bard’s work and words bouncing off the barn.
I hope everyone is enjoying these beautiful summer days!
